MARK BOYER
Life Athletes Questionaire

1. Name/Sport/Team
Mark Boyer, Football, New York Jets/Indianapolis Colts

2. Other organized sports you have played
Basketball in high school, but mostly football.

3. How do you think sportsmanship can be improved in your sport?
I don't enjoy all the "showboating" that goes on over very insignificant plays.

4. Which one word would your coaches use to describe you?
Consistent.

5. How has participation in athletics affected your character?
Made me a hard worker, willing to fight through adversity to reach goals.

6. What virtue or personal character trait would you like to acquire?
More unconditional love like Christ.

7. What do/did you find most difficult about dating?
Saying "good night" when many times I wanted to stay.

8. Why do you think abstinence before marriage is a good idea?
Because God said it and He knows best. So awesome to have no regrets in our marriage because we waited. Sex in a loving, committed marriage relationship is a true gift.

9. Do you have any fun ideas for a date?

10. Are you married? Have children? How many?
Married for 18 years; 5 children.

11. What attracted you most to your spouse?
She was cute and looked good in a cheerleading skirt. Mostly though, I found out she loved the Lord.

12. What is it like being married?
Awesome!

13. What advice would you give a friend thinking of marriage?
Keep your relationship with Jesus Christ the #1 thing. This will allow you to love your spouse the way you should.

14. Why are you pro-life?
Because life is a gift. Man doesn't make life so what gives him the right to choose who lives and who dies apart from the Word of God. The Word says that we are "fearfully and wonderfully made" by Him for His purpose. Even in wrong situations, God can make a way. He has given us life, we should make the best of it.

15. What do you appreciate about your life?
Each day I have with my family.

15.What do you think can be done to help others respect life more?
Help people realize how much God loves them and will forgive all sin. Being "reborn" of the Spirit changes our whole perspective. Also people need to think for themselves more and not be led by the "culture" as to what is truth. Media does not help.

16.What was your most humbling experience?

17.What was your most exalted experience?

18.What do you do when things are not going well for you?
Pray and seek God.

19.What do you do when you do something wrong?
Ask for forgiveness; try to make it right.

20.What do you think about when you experience success?

21.What do you like to do that is important?

22.What do you like to do that is frivolous?

23.What is your favorite pre-game meal?

24.What is your favorite snack when you are not in training?

25.Any additional insights, comments or personal experiences related to virtue, abstinence and respect for life?
