ANTHONY LYNN Life Athletes Questionaire
Anthony Lynn - Denver Broncos
Height: 6-3
Weight: 230
Born: 12/21/68
College: Texas Tech
NFL Experience: 5 yrs.
Anthony Lynn is an important member of the defending Super Bowl Champion
Denver Broncos football team. He is a running back and special teams
member. Needless to say with Super Bowl MVP Terrell Davis on the roster
Anthony sees more action on special teams. Nevertheless, this popular
Bronco is viewed by many of his peers as one of the strongest players on
the team mentally as well as physically.
Anthony Lynn is a long-time member of Life Athletes. Here is an interview
he gave to Life Athletes President Chris Godfrey.
Jeremiah 1:5
Psalms 139:13-18
An Interview with Anthony Lynn
Chris Godfrey: Why do you oppose Abortion?
Anthony Lynn: It's not right. It's a life and abortion is
murder. In most cases, if you take a human life, you go to the
courthouse, you go to trial and then you get sentenced. We treat it
seriously. The way we treat abortion is different, even though, I think
it's the same thing.
Chris: When did you first come to this position?
Anthony: Basically all of my life. I was raised that way. My mom
is a very strong Christian and she brought me up that way.
Chris: Any particular scripture that would help to reinforce
that?
Anthony: Yes, but I can't recall them exactly right now. I'll get
them to you. (Ed. Note: Psalms)
Chris: What Pro-Life activity do you find the most effective or
meaningful for you?
Anthony: Education. If people were educated, not just in basic
education, but an education in the Lord and His principles and how He
wants things to be, I think that a lot of people wouldn't make that
decision. I think that a lot of people are just ignorant. They really
don't know what is happening, or think it's that big of a deal.
I think there are ways out. Even if you can't take care
of the child, there are other options like adoption available.
Chris: What kind of a message would you give young people?
Anthony: I would tell young people not to lay down with someone
unless they are willing to accept the responsibility of being a parent,
because that is the chance they are taking. Even with condoms there is a
big failure rate. You're always taking a chance with them. If you're not
willing to be responsible for your actions then you shouldn't lay down and
do that.
Chris: Would you have a message for other athletes?
Anthony: Basically, the same thing.
Chris: What would you say to those that have already been involved
in an Abortion?
Anthony: I would say that there really is not much you can do
about it now. Just learn from your mistakes, and try not to make those
same mistakes again. Educate yourself about it now and go on. There's
really not much you can do about it now, it's in the past. Just don't make
those same mistakes again.
