An Interview with Glyn Milburn
Chris Godfrey: Why do you actively oppose abortion?
Glyn Milburn: I actively oppose abortion mainly because for the fact that I believe it's murder. I think it's not a way of solving a family problem. Abortion is not morally right, nor is it spiritually right for us to do.

Chris: When did you first come to this position?
Glyn: I have always felt this way. Ever since I became a Christian. I think I have spoken more on it in the time that I've been in college. Simply because that was the time when I was awakened to a lot of the tolerance that our society has toward the practice, as well as the opposition towards those who are Pro-Life.

Chris: Was there any particular scripture that stood out to you?
Glyn: No particular scripture, I think "Thou shall not kill", is simple enough right there, to make the point.

Chris: Did anybody in particular influence your views?
Glyn: A guy named Randy Jones had a big influence in my spiritual life. It was at a bible study where we talked about issues such as that, it really brought it to the forefront and into my thoughts. This is something that we cannot be tolerant of. It isn't right to kill people.

Chris: Is there any particular activity that you find the most effective or meaningful?
Glyn: I think that communication or talking to youths is very important.

Chris: Would you have a message for young people?
Glyn: Seek the proper guidance from those, such as your parents, your pastor or someone that has experience in this area and let them tell you that abortion is not the solution. I've read that people have many, many emotional scars from that experience that never really heal. Definitely, before you make a decision like that, you have to weigh all the options.

Chris: Do you have a message for other athletes?
Glynn: I would tell other athletes to really consider being involved in pro-Life organizations as athletes. People look up to us and they are more apt to listen to someone that they look up to.

Chris: Do you have a message for those people that have been involved in an abortion before?
Glyn: I would say if you've already had an abortion it's going to be important for you to counsel those who are thinking about it and let them know that this isn't the solution. I think that a person that's already gone through a situation is always a better person to explain and tell people not do it.
