Track in high school (shot), Little League baseball.
3. How do you think sportsmanship can be improved in your sport?
Sportsmanship could be improved if both teams shook hands after the game. Most people do, but not everyone.
4. Which one word would your coaches use to describe you?
Hustle. I am known for giving my best effort.
5. How has participation in athletics affected your character?
It has developed the idea of teamwork.
6. What virtue or personal character trait would you like to acquire?
Patience.
7. What do/did you find most difficult about dating?
The fear of rejection.
8. Why do you think abstinence before marriage is a good idea?
You can give your spouse nothing more precious than your virginity.
9. Do you have any fun ideas for a date?
Go somewhere you both enjoy, a non-threatening evironment, away from drugs and alcohol.
10. Are you married? Have children? How many?
I have been married for ten years. I have a son, age 8, and daughters, ages 6 and 4.
11. What attracted you most to your spouse?
Her outgoing personality and sense of humor.
12. What is it like being married?
A great joy when your wife is also your best friend.
13. What advice would you give a friend thinking of marriage?
Be 100% sure that this is the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. Are you best friends, willing to lay down your life on a daily basis for your spouse?
14. Why are you pro-life?
Because Jesus Christ is for life.
15. What do you appreciate about your life?
I appreciate my wife, children, my relationship with God. My personal freedom to run, hike, ski, spend time outdoors.
16. What do you think can be done to help others respect life more?
Show them how precious life is. Visit a children's hospital and see those less fortunate.
17. What was your most humbling experience?
Being hit by a car as a child. I was nearly killed.
18. What was your most exalted experience?
Winning the National Championship in college football, or finishing a marathon.
19. What do you do when things are not going well for you?
Pray.
20. What do you do when you do something wrong?
Ask for forgiveness.
21. What do you think about when you experience success?
Give God the glory. Thank Him.
22. What do you like to do that is important?
Tell others about Jesus Christ.
23. What do you like to do that is frivolous?
Snow ski, golf, scuba dive, fishing.
24. What is your favorite pre-game meal?
Pasta.
25. What is your favorite snack when you are not in training?
Ice cream.
26. Any additional insights, comments or personal experiences related to virtue, abstinence and respect for life?
We are saved not by religion, but by a relationship with Jesus Christ. John 3:16-17.
